A hearty congratulations to all those involved in the creation of the movie Spotlight as well as the Boston Globe Spotlight Team reporters for winning Best Picture last night at the Academy Awards.
We were honored to have interviewed Pulitzer Prize winning reporter Steve Kurkjian a few weeks ago. Steve and the Spotlight Team were instrumental in revealing to the world the sad truth of child sexual abuse. Spotlight focused on the reporters’ work in uncovering the beginnings of a massive Archdiocese of Boston cover-up regarding the sexual abuse of children.
If you haven’t seen the movie, please do so. While the movie only covers a brief period of the whole saga, it provides a riveting portrait of the survivors and the reporters who told their stories.
