Oregon Teacher Arrested on Sex Abuse Charges

NewsFromOregonJonathan Michael Peachey, a West Linn High School Spanish and English teacher, has been arrested on suspicion of third-degree sexual abuse, furnishing alcohol to a minor and official misconduct.

Peachey has been a district employee for 12 years, beginning at Inza R. Wood Middle School before transferring to the high school faculty. In addition to his teaching duties, he has served as an adviser to the Ski Club and the Link Crew, a group of upperclassmen interested in leadership.

The Lake Oswego Police Department conducted a week-long investigation that included allegations that the teacher inappropriately touched two minor students at a home where he was house-sitting.

In 2010, Peachey was arrested by the West Linn Police Department for drunken driving.
