Former Oregon Youth Coach Arrested for Sexual Abuse and Child Pornography

Carroll42-year-old Kenneth “Scott” Carroll, a former Colton Oregon youth sports coach has been arrested on charges ranging from sexual abuse to possession of child pornography. He was booked into Clackamas County Jail on criminal charges of sexual abuse, sodomy and unlawful sexual penetration.

Carroll faces a criminal investigation on similar criminal matters in the state of Washington as well. The Oregonian reports, “Meanwhile, Carroll is under investigation by the Washington State Patrol for sexual abuse and making child pornography as early as 1997, when he coached the Puyallup Roughriders, a youth football program in Puyallup, Wash. Carroll also coached the Puyallup Falcons junior wrestling team.”

“This investigation began as two cases of sexual abuse of minors,” said WSP Lt. Ron Mead, commander of Missing and Exploited Children’s Task Force. “It didn’t take long for us to find evidence that Mr. Carroll had compounded his crimes by videotaping the abuse.”

Carroll was arrested in Ovando Montana by US Marshalls who were serving a felony arrest warrant on him.
According to the media report, Carroll taught boys wrestling and football for the Colton School District from 1994 until 1998, coaching children ages 11 to 13.

Colton School District Superintendent Linda L. Johnson told the Oregonian that the district was aware of a sexual abuse allegation in 1997. “We are aware of an accusation of child abuse,” Johnson said. “We reported this to Youth Family Services in 1997, but it is our understanding that no criminal charges were filed.” Johnson said Carroll subsequently was fired and banned from Colton School District property for one year.
