Former NFL Player Facing Revenge Porn Charges in New Jersey

Revenge PornFormer New England Patriots linebacker Jermaine Cunningham is facing criminal charges in New Jersey stemming from an alleged incident in which he sent lewd pictures of a woman to her friends and family following a domestic dispute between the two last December.

A New Jersey judge denied a defense request on Wednesday that would have kept any conviction on pending “revenge porn” charges off his record, according to an Associated Press report.

New Jersey law forbids sending images of someone “whose intimate parts are exposed” or who is engaged in a sexual act without their permission, the report says. It was the first state to put such a law on the books a decade ago, according to a prior AP report, and 16 states have since followed, with at least 10 others considering such laws.
