Gilion Dumas founded Dumas & Vaughn to advocate on behalf of clients in civil lawsuits. Gilion has successfully represented clients in real estate, partnership, employment, trade secret, professional liability, and general commercial litigation matters. Success in our practice depends on attention to detail, knowledge of our client’s business, and a thorough understanding of the laws and regulations at play. That kind of dedicated preparation pays off in the courtroom.
As a trial attorney with more than 22 years of courtroom experience, Gilion provides her clients with expert legal counsel, effective negotiation skills, and resolution of your commercial litigation issues.
Gilion’s background is in commercial and tort litigation. Her trial victories include establishing quiet title to disputed property in an adverse possession case and successfully establishing a prescriptive easement against the City of Portland, a decision upheld by the Oregon Court of Appeals. Other cases involved successfully prosecuting trade secret claims on behalf of a privately-held company; defending the estate of a magazine publisher against multi-million dollar claims involving complex tax and probate issues; and representing a client on appeal to the Ninth Circuit in a high-end employment dispute.
Gilion is an active member of the state and federal bars in Oregon, Washington, California, and Idaho. She is a former Chair of the Oregon State Bar’s Business Litigation Section and a former President of the Oregon Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
